3BSE021445R1 | ABB TU844 Redundant Module Termination Units

The TU844 MTU has up to 8 I/O channels and 2+2 process voltage connections. Each channel includes two I/O connections and one ZP connection. Use TY801 shunt sticks for input signals—they let you switch between voltage and current input. Per channel, max rated voltage is 50 V, max current 2 A.

The MTU splits its two ModuleBuses: one goes to each I/O module, with both passed on to the next MTU in the setup. It auto-generates I/O module addresses by shifting the outgoing position signals to the next unit.

Mounting the MTU is straightforward—it fits on a standard DIN rail and is secured by a built-in mechanical latch that locks it firmly in place.

Four mechanical keys (two per I/O module) configure the MTU for different module types. This is purely a mechanical setup with no impact on functionality. Each key has 6 positions, totaling 36 configurations.
