GE DS200SIOCG1AEA Instantaneous Overcurrent Card
Product Details:
The GE DS200SIOCG1AEA is a VME Stand I/O Board designed for GE’s Mark V Turbine Control System—a legacy, now-obsolete series originally used to control steam and gas turbine automated drives, and one of the final GE Mark lines to leverage the patented Speedtronic technology. A revised variant of the original DS200SIOCG1 parent board, it incorporates three key revisions: A-rated primary functional, E-rated secondary functional, and A-rated artwork. Though the Mark V Series is discontinued, the board still sees steady demand in industrial markets due to its Speedtronic compatibility.
Its core role is to handle signal connectivity for turbine control systems: it features five wire terminals, one protective fuse, and four 2-pin connectors. For replacement, terminal IDs simplify wiring—users can label wires by terminal ID to reattach them even if component layouts differ on newer iterations of the board.
Key Features:
High-Capacity Signal Connectivity: Five wire terminals support up to 33 signal wires, with tailored capacity per terminal (3-wire/12-wire splits) to handle diverse signal routing needs for steam/gas turbine control.
Overcurrent Protection: A dedicated fuse shields the board from excess current, preventing damage to components and ensuring reliable operation—replacement requires matching the original fuse’s rating.
Simplified Replacement & Wiring: Consistent terminal IDs across old and revised boards (even with component layout changes) allow easy wire labeling and reattachment, reducing replacement time and errors.
Transparent Part Number Coding: Part number embeds critical details (SIOC function, Group 1 classification, PCB coating, three revisions) for quick identification—essential given the scarcity of original instructional materials.
Industrial-Grade Durability: Features a normal PCB coating (standard for Mark V Series) to resist environmental stress, aligning with the robust design needed for turbine control environments.
